During the “open studios” of the local art festival “Ortstermin”, Art-Lab Berlin’s co-director Salah Saouli presents sketches and objects for his new project, Der Schamane (The Shaman).

Following the recent explosion in Beirut on August 4, 2020, the Lebanese media was filled with different theories related to this disaster. Conspiracy theories were abundant and the well-known clairvoyant Michel Hayek even claimed that he had predicted a great explosion.
As so often in times of crisis, it seems that people recur to secret and supernatural forces when trying to come to terms with traumatic events and disasters.
This project takes a closer look at the underlying reasons for this phenomenon.
